NEXT.JS AND USER EXPERIENCE
A major factor in the success (or failure) of digital enterprises is user experience.
For instance, failing to properly manage user experience (UX) in your online store will lead to:
- losing clients
- Carts that have been abandoned
- elevated rate of retraction
The design is also crucial since, if you are using themes or templates, someone else likely has a layout that looks similar. It also implies that creating a distinctive customer experience and gradually refining it is not possible. Even if this entails altering one basic item like adding a button to the product page or eliminating one.
- UX Freedom: Next.js gives developers the freedom to work around restrictions imposed by CMS platforms, such as those related to plugins and templates. Technically, this is made possible by Next.js’s adaptable file-system routing and support for multiple CSS-in-JS libraries, which provide a high level of frontend design customization.
- Adaptability and responsiveness: Developing web applications that can be viewed on any size or resolution of the screen is made possible in large part by the framework’s integrated features, which include responsive loading and automatic image optimization. The framework’s smooth integration with contemporary CSS frameworks, which improves responsive design capabilities, supports this adaptability.
- Short Page Load Time: Next.js’s capabilities for static site generation (SSG) and incremental static regeneration (ISR) play a significant part in obtaining shorter page load times. These features allow users to be served pre-rendered pages, which lowers the time to the first byte (TTFB) and speeds up the website as a whole.
- Data Security: Not having a direct database connection improves security when it comes to static websites created with Next.js. These websites are intrinsically more secure against common web vulnerabilities because of this architectural decision, which reduces the exposure of sensitive data and dependencies.
The user experience is enhanced by all of the previously mentioned factors.
However, using Next.js has additional advantages.
NEXT.JS AND SEO
Next.js’s SEO efficiency is another compelling argument in favor of it. Here’s why:
- Server-Side Rendering (SSR): Using SSR is one of Next.js’s biggest advantages. By using this method, you can be sure that your page’s entire content is rendered on the server before it is viewed by the user’s browser. This improves search engine visibility by enabling search engines to more efficiently crawl and index the content on your website.
- Static Site Generation (SSG): Next.js is a great tool for creating static websites, which are more dependable and faster by nature. Static websites load more quickly, providing a better user experience—a feature that search engines, especially Google, place a high value on. Improved SEO rankings are a direct result of this.
- Performance and Speed: Next.js websites are renowned for their lightning-fast loading times, which are a direct consequence of optimized code and static generation. Search engines favor websites that load quickly, which lowers bounce rates, increases user engagement, and improves SEO rankings.
- Organic Traffic and High-Intent Keywords: Next.js accelerates the growth of organic traffic by optimizing for speed and user experience. For companies looking to increase their visibility to prospective clients, it is the preferred option due to its capacity to rank high-intent keywords higher than rivals.
- Competitive Edge: Websites using Next.js have a major advantage over rivals thanks to its SEO efficiency. Its performance, speed, and content visibility capabilities enable websites to rank higher in search engine results than their competitors.
It will greatly assist you in both situations with:
- accelerating the growth of organic traffic
- Your high-intent keywords will rank higher.
- surpassing rivals more easily
- Increase your visibility to prospective clients.
Next.js websites are super-fast, easy to scan, and provide a great user experience and that’s why Google will favor them above others and rank them higher.

Benefits of Next.js for programmers
There are several reasons to give Next.js careful thought, regardless of whether you are searching for technical or business advantages.
Next.js’s React development feature saves a ton of time when building a complex and demanding application. Specifically, developers like features like:
- Zero Config – Next lets you concentrate on your application’s business logic rather than its application logic. Additionally, it offers automatic bundling and compilation to assist you. Stated differently, Next is designed with production in mind from the very beginning.
- Gradual With Static Regeneration, you can update the pages as new traffic arrives by having them re-rendered in the background. Put differently, static content can become dynamic.
- A combination of static site generation and server-side rendering (SSR) SSG: prerender pages in a single project at the request or build time.
- Fast Refresh allows for quick live editing; changes made to React components take effect instantly. It functions like a Hot Module Replacement (HMR).
- The ability to import CSS files from a JavaScript file is provided by CSS parsers. The handling of CSS was enhanced by new parses.
- Automatic image optimization and a built-in image component are two features that optimize images automatically.
- By dividing the code and serving components only when required, automatic code splitting automatically shrinks the page’s size. The dynamic import option also allows modules to be imported automatically.
- Data fetching: Depending on the use case of the application, this option allows for various content renderings. Static site generation (SSR) or server-side rendering (SSR) can be used for pre-rendering, and ISR can be used for content creation or updates.
Next.js 13’s release: an even more optimistic future
The benefits of Next.js are increasing with each release. Next.js 13 was released in October 2022 along with several new features. The most significant ones are as follows:
- The new Rust-based Webpack replacement, Turbopack, offers: Updates from 700x faster than Webpack, 10x faster than Vite, and 4x faster than Webpack during cold starts
- The new next/image component is more platform-compliant, requires fewer client-side JavaScript by default, is easier to style and configure, loads faster thanks to native lazy loading that doesn’t require hydration, and is more accessible.
- Using the CSS size-adjust property, the new brand font system guarantees zero layout shift, eliminates network requests for enhanced privacy and performance, and automatically optimizes fonts.
Of course, the Next.js App router—a revolutionary approach to creating apps—was also available as a beta tester before its official release at the start of May 2023. We can say that it provides improved rendering performance, the mental model, and developer experience. This update has additional advantages, such as:
- App elements can now be streamed to users instantly, allowing them to interact with the app without having to wait for the full load time, all thanks to React Server Components.
- Static rendering is used to render the application quickly.
- The server-centered routing has improved development efficiency.

Drawbacks of Next.js usage
The advantages of Next are numerous and unquestionably exceed its drawbacks. But let’s put them in writing so we can be as impartial as possible.
- Development and management: Constant management is necessary to offset the flexibility Next provides. You will require a committed individual with the necessary knowledge to make all of the desired changes correctly. The good news is that this person doesn’t have to be a developer.
- Ongoing expense: Next.js doesn’t come with a lot of pre-built front pages, so you’ll need to make changes to your front-end design from time to time. It implies that to complete the task, you will need to pay a front-end developer.
- The absence of an integrated state manager means you must use Redux, MobX, or another solution if you require one for your application.
- Low on plug-ins – you cannot use much of easy-to-adapt plugins.
Conclusion
