Their scalable infrastructure gives businesses the tools they need to succeed in the growing B2B eCommerce industry.
Before it was bought by Adobe in 2018, Adobe Commerce was known as Magento. It is a market-leading eCommerce platform that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced data-sharing features to create personalized eCommerce experiences from start to finish. Through a single platform that is flexible, extensible, and scalable, the eCommerce platform gives businesses the tools they need to handle online B2B and B2C experiences across multiple channels and grow into new geographic areas. The platform was made to meet the needs of both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) businesses of all sizes. It offers a strong and scalable solution that can be changed to meet the needs of different types of companies. Adobe Commerce is a very popular choice for businesses that want to grow into the online B2B market because it is flexible and has a lot of features.
Shopify Plus vs. Adobe Commerce: Features of Adobe Commerce
On the other hand, Shopify Plus, which came out in 2014, is a fully managed eCommerce platform made for businesses with a lot of growth and a lot of eCommerce features. Shopify Plus: Features That Stand Out
How Adobe Commerce and Shopify Plus Are Different
Adobe Commerce and Shopify Plus are two of the most popular B2B eCommerce systems on the market right now. So, businesses that want to use either platform need to compare and contrast the features and functions of Adobe Commerce vs. Shopify Plus to choose the best option for their needs and goals. Some of the most important changes between Adobe Commerce and Shopify Plus are:
Compare the B2B features of Adobe Commerce and Shopify Plus.
When the B2B application for Adobe Commerce is installed and turned on, users can use the platform’s specific B2B features. Some of the features and functions are shared catalogs, advanced inventory management, buy order approvals that are done automatically, and quotes that are negotiated. For managing customers, the platform also has powerful tools for managing business accounts. For example, you can set up how the customer company works on the website, including payment methods, pricing levels, the ability to negotiate prices, and the ability to make requisition lists.
On the other hand, Shopify Plus has also made a lot of progress in recent years in the B2B eCommerce space. It has a variety of features for B2B operations, such as wholesale functions, customer-specific product publishing, B2B logic that can be changed, easy reordering, and number rules that depend on the situation. Shopify Plus also has easy-to-use online stores where customers can buy things on their own and track their orders, which makes account management easier.
Shopify Plus has a wide range of features, but compared to Adobe Commerce, it may not have as many B2B features.
Adobe Commerce vs. Shopify Plus: Adaptability and Customization
The modular core of Adobe Commerce gives organizations more freedom and the ability to make changes. It gives businesses the ability to scale up or down based on the cloud, to do business without a user interface, and to add new features with tools made for that purpose. Adobe Developer App Builder, a serverless tool that automates the provisioning and scaling of compute, storage, and CDN resources, is another service offered by Adobe Commerce that helps developers make business applications and event-driven, real-time integrations fast.
Even though Shopify Plus isn’t as flexible as Adobe Commerce, it gives businesses a lot of ways to make their eCommerce site fit their needs. It has a wide range of themes and templates that businesses can use as a starting point to sell on multiple platforms and markets through a single, dynamic platform. Every important part of a business that needs to be changed, like goods, discounts, checkouts, and payments, can be changed easily to meet both front-end and back-end needs. Also, Shopify Plus’s environment is much easier to use than Adobe Commerce’s, so businesses can get started much faster.
When it comes to customization and flexibility, the choice between Adobe Commerce and Shopify Plus comes down to what a business needs and how important those needs are. Businesses should carefully look at what each platform can do and pick the one that fits their needs the best.
Adobe Commerce vs. Shopify Plus – Capabilities for Selling on All Channels
Adobe Commerce has strong omnichannel features that let businesses build consistent customer experiences across multiple touchpoints, such as physical stores, online marketplaces, and social media outlets. With the Progressive Web App (PWA) features of Adobe Commerce, businesses can easily give a strong and unified mobile commerce experience. Because of this, Adobe Commerce is a great choice for businesses that want a full omnichannel strategy.
In the same way, Shopify Plus also has powerful omnichannel features that help businesses manage their operations across multiple platforms. One of the best things about Shopify Plus is that it has a strong point-of-sale system called Shopify POS. This system makes it easy for businesses to take orders and payments from both online and offline platforms. The platform makes it easy for brands to sell their goods and services across multiple channels, such as in-store, online marketplaces, social media platforms, and other channels.
Customer Service for Adobe Commerce vs. Shopify Plus
With Adobe Commerce, there is a strong group of developers and partners who can help with customization and technical problems. Adobe Commerce also has phone, email, and chat help for customers, as well as a large knowledge base and online community forums. Businesses can also buy help packages that include extra services like training, implementation, and an analysis of how well the site is doing.
Shopify Plus also has several ways to help customers, such as phone and email support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, a help center, and a community website. Shopify Plus also gives businesses access to specialized account managers who can help with technical support, site optimization, and other problems. This personalized method makes sure that businesses get solutions and help that are made just for them. This helps them solve problems quickly and effectively.
Prices for Adobe Commerce vs. Shopify Plus
Adobe Commerce’s platform comes in two different versions: Adobe Commerce Pro and Managed Services. Prices vary based on the number of users, goods, and transactions. With Adobe Commerce Pro, users get an all-in-one eCommerce solution. With Managed Services, users get extra expert-level managed services for their eCommerce site. Adobe Commerce also has a lot of tools and ways to customize it that may cost extra, like custom extensions, support packages, and implementation services. The good thing about Adobe Commerce’s pricing is that there are no set costs. Instead, the final price that businesses have to pay depends on what they can agree on. Adobe Commerce’s custom price for enterprises gives businesses the freedom to start using the platform with only the features they need and then grow as their businesses grow and they have more resources.
Shopify Plus, on the other hand, has a flat monthly fee of USD 2,000 or a variable fee for companies that do a lot of transactions. This fee gives you access to all of its features and services, no matter how many products or transactions you do. This can make it a cheaper choice for businesses with smaller budgets or simpler eCommerce needs. However, businesses may still need to pay for extra services, like special development or design work, which can add to the total cost over time.
How to Choose the Best eCommerce Platform for Business-to-Business Growth
Choosing the right eCommerce platform is important for the growth of B2B eCommerce, and this takes a deep understanding of how each business works. When deciding between Adobe Commerce and Shopify Plus, it’s important to think about things like the business’s budget, the amount of customization it needs, and its eCommerce needs. For example, if a business needs a lot of customization and a lot of interaction with systems from other companies, Adobe Commerce may be a better choice. Shopify Plus, on the other hand, may be a better choice for a company that wants quick setup and easy use.
Aside from these things, companies should also look at how scalable and flexible each platform is, as well as how much support and security it offers. Adobe Commerce may allow for more customization, but it also needs more technical know-how, which may not be right for all companies. On the other hand, Shopify Plus has an easy-to-use interface, works well with popular tools, and has a large number of third-party apps. This makes it a great choice for businesses that need a simpler eCommerce option. When choosing an eCommerce platform, a business should carefully consider its wants and goals, making sure that the platform chosen has the tools and features it needs to grow in the long run.
